GHK Architects have undertaken a variety of works at Hampton Court Palace under their term commission with Historic Royal Palaces (HRP).
Executed schemes include repair and renewal of leadwork to roofs to extend their lifespan. The objective was to achieve current good practice with minimal intervention to historic fabric.
In Chapel Court we specified and oversaw masonry repair and conservation including trials of alternative cleaning methods, mortar analysis and approval of samples.
Other completed work includes the conservation and repair of the Lion Gate piers at the entrance to the Palace which included investigation and analysis of a number of options ranging from complete rebuild to cathodic protection.
More recently, we have just finished masonry repairs and re-roofing of The Georgian House. We have recently completed phase one of repairs to deal with the separation of the outer brick facing to the Barrack Block. Click here to read more about this restoration work.
